About Us

Meet Ivan Demers and Rachelle Marquis, the heart and soul behind Golden Phoenix Breathwork. As a father of two beautiful girls, Desiree and Ashley, Ivan‘s journey is a testament to the transformative power of breathwork and personal development.

With a background as a Power Engineer in the oil patch, and a brief stint as a  Realtor, Ivan experienced a mid-life fall from grace about a decade ago. This lead him down an unconscious path of risky behavior,  experiencing difficulties due to lifestyle choices that undermine personal success.

His commitment to change led him to the profound modalities of breathwork, meditation, and awareness of true self. This became the cornerstone of his personal growth and self reformation, and his exit strategy from the perpetuating and passionless hamster wheel of life. Ivan is trained in Somatic, Pranayama and Wim Hof Breathwork, is Reiki certified, and attended Douglas College for Psychology, Philosophy, Human Development, Expository Writing and more.

As a devoted mother to two children, Ainsley and Haiden, Rachelle’s life story is a testament to the profound impact of breathwork on her own growth, and her unwavering commitment to helping others. Rachelle’s personal journey is a testament to overcoming insurmountable human challenges. 

Having overcome breast cancer and many serious injuries, she shares a unique perspective on resilience and healing. She was involved in a car accident while pregnant, enduring labor every day for months until it was safe to bring her baby into the world. Her tenacity and strength shine through as a testament to her resilience and tenacity.

Rachelle is trained in Reiki, Hot Stone Massage, Somatic Breathwork and more, and additionally  holds a degree in Travel & Tourism.
